Clisson - Collegiate Notre-Dame (English)

By walking through our lovely city of Clisson, by entering the church, halfway between the Toscane and the Marches of Brittany, you may have encountered very inspiring local feminine figures, each depicted as in love, courageous and free:
You will have recognised them, they are:
.- The beautiful Héloïse (1092-1164), wandering, lovesick, in the picturesque gardens of the Garenne Lemot.
.- Jeanne de Belleville (1300-1359), famous privateer and mother to the Constable of France Olivier V of Clisson, who awaits you in her castle.
Enter and let yourself be guided by another name, Mary of Nazareth also called “Notre Dame”, mother of Jesus. Who, through her unusual life, richly described in this church, allows us to see, to feel and to understand another vision of Love with a "capital L", the love of God, also freely given.
As Molière had already sensed in his time ! “Whatever may be said, the great ambition of women is to inspire love. All the care they take is only for this.”
